Hello! All the information regarding custom commissions is on this page!
Commissions are currently closed!
I take commission slots at the beginning of every month.
Contact
Please contact me at shelby.n.bergen@gmail.com for all inquiries.
All communication regarding commission work is to be done through e-mail. Please don’t DM me on social media, I will probably see it, think that I should reply to it, and then immediately forget it ever existed in the first place. I also will probably just tell you to e-mail me anyway.
Payment
All payment will be in USD via Paypal.
All payment should be made through invoice, don’t send me the funds directly, please. I will invoice you.
50% of payment is due upfront, I will not start your commission until this invoice is paid. The other 50% is due after I show you the final artwork. You will not get your final files until I am paid.
General Guidelines
Please include visual references and a good description. The more the better! Even if you’re like “I have no idea how this would be included but it would be cool” include it! I might find a way.
I mostly do portraits of real people, but am able to draw original characters and pets as well.
If you’re not sure if what you have in mind will be something that I would be willing or able to do, do not hesitate to email me, I’m happy to look it over.
Things I will not or am unable to draw are complicated mech, furries, porn, and guns. I also will not draw anything that’s offensive. I have a hard line on these things!
The prices I have specified should only be used as guidelines. Some commissions are more complicated than others, and I will give you a final price in our email conversation about your commission.
I reserve the right to decline a commission for any reason.
Process
After payment is received, I will start working on your commission. I’ll send a sketch and you can approve it or ask for adjustments if needed. I won’t move onto color until you have approved the sketch.
Minor changes to the pieces are possible at any stage (small details, colors, ect). If you require a major change at an advanced stage of the piece (like changing the pose, adding another figure, removing and replacing a major element), I may charge an additional 25% of the original agreed upon price (if your commission cost 100$ and you would like a major change, your commission would then come to 125$).
I usually work at 8”x10” at a 300 DPI delivered in a JPG format, the size makes it easier to find a frame for, I find. If you would like a different size, I am happy to accommodate that as long as it’s within reason (I am unable to give you a mural, haha). I’ll also send across the file in CMYK (good for printing) and RGB (good for posting online) color profiles.
I am unable to print your commission for you, but I am happy to provide you with some recommendations on where to get it printed.
Commissions can take anywhere from 2-5 weeks to complete, so please plan accordingly. This changes during the holiday season, but I will let you know in our e-mail conversation about how long I believe your commission will take me and if I have any scheduling conflicts during that time.
If any delays arise on my part, I will e-mail you promptly.
Use
My commissions are for personal use only; no commercial use allowed! You may not profit from my artwork, sell prints, print it on products to then print, use it as your logo, ect. You can make prints for personal use or to give away to friends and family. If you are looking to have something made that you can use for commercial use, please contact me and we can chat about it.
You may resize or crop your commission to make social media icons, wallpapers, ect for personal use, but do not alter my work any way.
By commissioning me, you’re purchasing my artist labor and a digital copy of your commissioned artwork. I retain all the rights to my work, which include but are not limited to the right to distribute, reproduce, copy and/or use the image as a sample for sales or self-promotion.
If you’d like your commission to remain private (not published on my social media anywhere), please just let me know. I am also able to accommodate any requests to post your commission at a later date, just in case you’re getting it as a gift for someone!
You are absolutely welcome to upload your commission to social media, but please give me credit in the description.
Refunds and Cancellations
If you wish to cancel your commission during the sketch stage you will be refunded 50% of what you’ve paid.
If you wish to cancel your commission after the sketching stage, there will be no refund.
You’ll receive a full refund if for any unjustifiable reason I’m unable to finish the commission.
Pricing
Portrait commissions start at 125$ for a singular person and a minimal background (see examples) with up to five words of text.
Each additional person is 40$, and each pet (within reason, if you have like, a horse, that’s a different story) is an additional 20$.
If the commission you’re looking for doesn’t fit within these parameters, please contact me and I can quote you a price.
